Dough Sculpting Painting

Today the children painted a rainbow of colors with our dough paint.  We made a thick paint medium of flour, water, and paint to use with our sculpting tools.  The children were able to lather on the paint onto our large sheet of plywood for a group activity.  Cade used his paint to "sheet rock" as he has helped daddy with home projects around the house and knew what to do!  Others enjoyed mixing all the colors as they smeared paint onto the board.  Then hands were painted and slapped onto the board to make handprints.  Of course arms and faces were the next to get painted as some of the children pretended it was sunscreen.  The paint soon began to dry like glue which tightened on their skin and made them squirm!  We got out our washing bins as everyone stripped to hop in the water.  They washed themselves with towels to release some of the thick, sticky paint but some paint still remained in hair and the children were speckled with paint that was a chore to get off!  A nice bubble bath will be in need of tonight from today's art!
