Mash it Up!

     We explored the world of mashed potatoes today with our play.  We hid different colors of paint within the mashed potatoes to be a surprise when the children started playing.  The children enjoyed mixing and mashing the silky potatoes creating the perfect play day clay.  Beautiful colors emerged as the paint was mixed in with the mashed potatoes.  We also brought out different playdough tools to explore with our mashers.  The children enjoyed listening to Katherine Dines song "This is the way my grandma makes mashed potatoes" song as they played.  What a fun way to use food in our play!
