"Shake it Up!" Let's Make Butter!

     Today we shook it up and made butter!  We put cream and salt in baby jars and shook till our hearts content to separate the fat to make butter.  We added some background music of Dan Zanes "Shake it Up" song to rock out to as we shook away.  The children tried different techniques to shake it up such as imitating a roller coaster, helicopter, airplane, and moving our arms up and down, and all around!  After our cream had separated the fat to make butter we toasted some bread and let the children spread their delicious soft butter on their toast.  What a yummy day cooking with science!
