Upside Down Painting!

Today we explored painting upside down!  We tied a clear plastic tarp above the children's heads for them to explore painting upside down.  The clear tarp also gave a different perspective looking through to the sky with all the pretty different color paint strokes the children painted.  Every ones hair was punk rock after this art activity as their hair brushed against the top of the tarp as they painted.  Some enjoyed painting their toes and hands too.  Painted hands also skimmed across the tarp leaving imprints.  The children really enjoyed this activity as it provided another way to use our paints "thinking outside the box!"  They really enjoyed the clean-up part as we set out a big bin of soapy water and sponges for the children to clean themselves.  They enjoyed this part just as much!  Spencer and Rylan enjoyed playing in the water for another 45 min as they meticulously cleaned each paint jar and emptied water jar by jar off the deck!  They even cleaned our table and chairs with the soapy sponges making sure they didn't miss a spot!  What a fun day!
