Cool-Whip Paintings

The children used sculpting tools to smear cool-whip and paint on black paper today.  The cool-whip creates an oil-based medium for the children to sculpt and paint.  They mixed blue and red glitter paint into the white, fluffy substance.  The paint created swirls in the cool-whip as they maneuvered it around with their tools.  As the cool-whip was flattened the children were able to draw through the thick paint to make designs.  It was a sensory project also, as some of the children enjoyed lathering their arms and faces too!
