Shake it Up! Making Butter!

     The children had a blast making our homemade butter today!  We sprinkled salt into our jars and then poured heavy whipping cream into them.  Then we shook and shook our hearts content in all different ways.  We had fun twirling, making our cream go on rollercoasters, spelling out shapes and names and numbers, and all sorts of craziness!  We saw what happened when the cream separated leaving butter and a watery substance.  We enjoyed our special homemade butter on toast for a mid-morning treat! Yummy to the tummy!

The Science of Orange Juice!

     Today the children enjoyed making orange juice!  They explored different ways to squeeze the juice from the oranges using an electric juicer, manual juicers, forks, and our hands!  We had some orange smiley faces all around today enjoying our juice made with love!
