We used bleeding tissue paper to make our colorful Easter eggs today. The children helped tear little pieces of tissue paper in various colors. Then they gathered the tissue paper into coffee filters as if they were little nests. They used spray bottles to wet their nests with a hard boiled egg and soon began to see the different colors from the tissue paper bleed onto their eggs and coffee filter. Then they wrapped up their nests into little presents and we let them dry. The children began different science experiments with eyedroppers, plastic eggs, and muffin tins which was a frenzy of mad science! After our eggs had dried, the children unwrapped their presents to reveal our marbled colorful eggs! They used their fine motor skills cracking and peeling their eggs for a delicious snack. What an eggtastic day!
