Paper Pulp Turtles

We started making our paper pulp for our sea turtles by ripping recycled green construction paper into little pieces.  The children worked on their skills ripping the paper into long strips and pieces.  They then placed the paper into a blender with water and we mixed the paper until it was paper pulp.  The children always like activities involved with our blender as it turns into a loud sensory experience.  Everyone holds their ears and laughs as the blender roars!  I transfered the pulp into a bowl and added glue.  Then the children molded the pulp mixture on their turtle backs.  The pulp was an interesting consistency.  The children enjoyed the fluffy, soft pulp as they molded and played while making their turtles.  What a great concoction to have great sensory play!
