Music Together Class

Today we welcomed our new friend Robin Rogers into our home.  Robin is experienced in teaching piano and music lessons.   The children welcomed Robin with smiles knowing her name was the same as mine.  She played a name game as she introduced herself and asked each child their name. Spencer immediately gave her a big hug in surprise.  I thought she knew Spencer as we were both caught off guard by his kindness!  The children were intrigued with the xylophone Robin placed in front of them.  The children sat quietly encircling Robin waiting in anticipation for what she had waiting for them.  She introduced them to her friends Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear, cute little stuffed animals.  She had the children listen to a story on her Ipad about high and low sounds.  When the story was over she asked the children if Mozart Mouse liked high sounds or low sounds, and the same with Beethoven Bear.  Madden and Cade listened to the story intently and were able to relay the answers.  She taught the children about high and low notes on her xylophone and had the children sing high and low notes.  The children participated in some movement songs which they had fun dancing around with their friends.  We ended our session with a good-bye song which everyone started hugging their friends which was precious!  Robin got many hugs as we said our good-byes.
