Eric Carle's Hungry Caterpillar

It was a group effort today to paint our very hungry caterpillar.  The children used different painting tools to decorate our long caterpillar.  With our rainy weather our art project was moved inside and our caterpillar stretched across our kitchen floor.  The children made many paint footprints and our kitchen became a rainbow of colors.  Some children squeezed their sponges dripping paint onto our caterpillar and making new colors which dripped onto the paint plates.  We discussed what our hungry caterpillar would like to eat and most of the children named off ice cream, cake, sausage, etc. from our famous Eric Carle book.  We have a beautiful DVD of Eric Carle's books that the children enjoy watching adding to our theme of the month of Insects, Bugs, and Creepy Crawlers!
