Milky Tie-Dye

Our science experiment with milk, colors, and soap turned into a beautiful tie-dye moving picture.  We started by placing droplets of liquid watercolor over the milk.  Then the children squeezed liquid soap on top of the milk and colors with eye droppers.  The soap makes the colors repel and move across the milk.  The children watched as the colors mixed and swirled together changing the blue and red droplets of color into purple swirls.  They loved using the eyedroppers to squeeze as much soap into the pan.  They started mixing the colors more with their eye droppers and creating bubbles which they loved catching on the ends of the eye droppers.  This activity was a science explosion of mixing color and cause and effect.  We had a great time working as a group creating our masterpiece!
