Our soft watercolor drawings were created by soaking watercolor paper and letting the children draw on the wet paper with colored chalk. The surface being wet made the chalk really vibrant with color and the water made the chalk spread like watercolors. The children enjoyed the texture of the slippery wet surface as they glided their hands and chalk over the surface. Some of the pictures looked like they should be displayed in a museum of modern art!
