Spray Bottle Felt Painting

Our spray bottle felt painting had many imaginary twists.  It started out with a big white felt canvas to spray with different colored spray bottles.  The children soon learned how to overlay the colors.  Alexandra and Cade took turns spraying each others colors. The discovery of overlaying the blue and pink colors was exciting.  Cade sprayed onto the canvas and made a “wave” of blue.  Soon the colors began to run down the felt tablecloth and the children said it looked like a “waterfall”.  Soon after that the children realized the floor was getting wet and their socks were the first to fly off. That prompted them to spray their feet and their friends feet!  Then it was “pants of dance off” as clothes started flying off to spray their bellies, arms, hair, etc. After the giggles and soaking colored water on the kitchen floor, again my clean-up crew came into action and unloaded my drawer of towels to quickly and efficiently clean up our mess.  Again I was impressed with their teamwork and how they quickly had changed our activity and made it their own.  After they dried their bodies and floor they loaded all the towels in the back of the jeep.  And the play continues.....”we are garbage men” they announced!
