Celebrate our Earth!

The children had fun painting our earth balls.  I cut blue construction paper circles and squeezed green paint in their hands.  They had fun smearing the paint all over their hands, arms, and faces!  I instructed them to slap their hands on their papers making "Our Earth".  The children really enjoyed slapping their papers and making hand prints creating the land for the Earth.  Then we changed it up and I brought out round coffee filters and jars with blue and green paint that they used eye droppers to squeeze the paint on their papers.  Ben tried a crazy way of painting with his mouth!  The children explored mixing the colors and layering the coffee filters on top of each other.  Rylan was a mad scientist mixing the paint from jar to jar.  He also stacked as many jars as he could into a leaning tower of Pisa until they all fell over!  A little lesson on cause and effect as paint splattered all over the floor!  The clean-up crew again came into action with a plenitude of bubbles overflowing the paint pots which left them sparkling clean!
